SEAT updates
The new engines with technology “common rail” of 105 CV come to substitute 1.9 TDI of equal potency in both families, Ibiza and Mallow. Available from this November, the new engine will equip the models with bodyworks of three and five doors and it offers a very improved behavior, at the same time, that reduces both the emission and the fuel consumption. The pair of the new engine places in 250 Nm between 1500 and 2.500 revolutions in minute associated with him a manual change of five relations goes and the consumption remains in 4,3 liters every 100 kilometers. The emission of CO2 to the ambience turns out to be limited to only 112 grams per kilometer and it is possible to combine the above mentioned engine with any of the completions of the model. The scale Ibiza introduces of series an electronic autoblocante XDS in the models with engines superior to 100 potency CV and for his part the Mallow includes the system Start and Stop in his new version Ecomotive 1.6 TDI CR of 105 CV.
The Versa
The Versa is powered by a familiar engine the same 1298cc Suzuki G13BB motor that Gypsy. However the Versa’s engine produces 82bhp to the Esteem’s 85 bhp. This slight drop in power is essentially due to different intake and exhaust manifolds needed to package the engine longitudinally under the front seats. Torque is marginally less as well with 10.4kgm to the Esteem’s 10.6kg. Other changes include a differently programmed engine managements system that is specifically tuned to suit the load carrying characterstics of the Versa. With the engine residing just under the front passengers’ backsides we expected the Versa to make quite a racket especially since this all-aluminium, 16 valve fuel injected unit with a distinctive clatter from the valve gear is not the quietest of powertrains. However in the Versa it is only marginally noisier than in th esteem and it is only near the redline that the engine makes its presence heard. LIft the front seats and you can see the layers of sound deadenging ,material that have done their job. It’s hard to tell that you’re virtually sitting on the Versa’s poweplant. In terms of performance the Versa is not just the quickest the Versa is not just the quickest vehicle with more than five seats but will shame several mid-size cars as well. Floor the throttle and Versa lunges foward in a most un van like manager. The engine spins eagerly to its 6700rpm redline and within no time you’re up to three-digit speeds. It is after all powered by the best engine in Maruti’s stable.

Honda VTEC Review
Honda has finally launched the City with a VTEC heart, much to the enthusiast’s delight. The City’s revised looks now make it appear as if the car sits lower than the tall looking pre-face lift model. The reason for the same is increase in the car’s length, together with a higher bonnet design, all of which contribute towards making the car look broader than the earlier variant. The boot space too is increased to 500 liters. The 1.5-liter VTEC meanwhile is a different engine than the available on the older City VTEC. Besides being lighter and more
compact that the older engine, the new VTEC produces lesser horsepower at lesser rpm as well – 100PS at 5800rpm against 107 PS at closer to 7000rpm produced by the former. The new VTEC therefore, is expected to be an equally good low-and mid-range performer, as i-DSI The VTEC will sport fogs lamps at both front and rear, besides disc brakes at the rear. Other features include, an opititron meter and a self illuminating high visibility instrument panel. The revised looks have been carried over to the complete range, coupled with a slight increase in prices.
